Rocktail Bay

Day 1: Arrive Durban
On arrival at Durban Airport you will be met and assisted to collect your hire car. Make your way towards Rocktail Bay which is situated in the northern reaches of the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park, a World Heritage Site in northern KwaZulu-Natal. The Lodge is situated off a secluded beach and offers tree-house style chalets with viewing decks overlooking the forest.  Overnight at Lodge.

Day 2: Maputaland Marine Reserve
Your day can be spent exploring the long white sandy beaches just over the dunes from the Lodge. It is one of the best places to dive and snorkel in South Africa.  The reserve has pristine reefs hosting a wide array of marine biodiversity. In summer you will see whalesharks and in winter humpbacked whales. Overnight in Lodge.

Day 3: Maputaland Marine Reserve
Other activities offered include nature walks through the indigenous coastal forests and grasslands, fishing, boating and nature drives. This particular stretch of beach is known to be the nesting area for rare loggerhead and leatherback turtles.  Try to see the females lay their eggs and watch the tiny hatchlings struggle into the sea. Overnight in Lodge.

Day 4: Depart Durban
After a relaxing and refreshing stay at Rocktail Bay, make your way back to Durban Airport for your onward journey.
