Day 1: Guatemala City
On your arrival into Guatemala City you will be collected from the airport and taken to your hotel. It’s a modern city with a large selection of hotels, nightlife, shopping and museums. There’s a daily handicraft market, or a number of select boutiques in the Zona Rosa. And as for dinner you could try a Churrasco which is a traditional BBQ. Overnight in Guatemala City.
Day 2: Chichicastenango - Santiago
After breakfast you have an early start to Chichicastenango; the most colourful and picturesque outdoor market in Guatemala. You will move onto visit one of the most beautiful lakes in the world: Lake Atitlán. In Panajachel, take time to relax by the lake’s shores and enjoy the breathtaking vistas of the volcanoes, or to explore the main street crowded with colourful handicrafts. Overnight in Panajachel area.
Day 3: Santiago Atitlán
After breakfast you will take a boat to the Maya-Tzutuhil village of Santiago Atitlán, famous for Maximón, a character that is widely worshiped by the inhabitants of Santiago. Santiago also offers a variety of handicrafts, colorful textiles, woodcarvings and naïf paintings. In the afternoon return to Panajachel and onto Antigua Guatemala. Overnight in Antigua Guatemala.
Day 4: Antigua Guatemala + Coffee Farm
Walking tour of Antigua Guatemala starting at the village of San Antonio Aguas Calientes. Then continue to visit Centro Cultural La Azotea, visit a Coffee Farm and the Traditional Mayan Music Museum Casa K’Ojom and onto Antigua’s Historic Centre, starting from the Main Plaza and visiting the main monuments of the city. Overnight in Antigua Guatemala.
Day 5: Tikal
Early transfer from the hotel to the airport to board your flight to Flores, Petén. Enjoy a guided walking tour of the wonderful city of Tikal and visit the most important plazas, temples, ball courts, palaces and stelae. You will have time to enjoy the tropical forest which is the nesting place for hundreds of exotic birds and the habitat of a wide variety of wildlife. A picnic lunch at the ruins is included. Overnight in Flores.
Day 6: Tikal
After breakfast you have the morning at leisure to enjoy a number of different activities offered such as kayaking on the lake, relaxing by the pool; bike riding or hiking. In the afternoon, transfer to the airport to board your flight to Guatemala City. Overnight in Guatemala City.
Day 7: Depart Guatemala City
After breakfast and checking out transfer from the hotel to the airport for your onward flight.
