It is as if man has been rewarded for leaving Guyana relatively untouched as you may be lucky enough to spot its rare jaguar, and enjoy giant river otters, endangered turtles, ocelots, arapaima and over 800 species of birds.

Day 1: Georgetown
On arriving in Guyana you will be met and transferred to Georgetown. After settling into your accommodation you have the rest of the day at leisure to take a look around this capital and chief port situated on the banks of the Demerara River. The town dates back to the 18th Century and is comprised of wide tree lined streets and grand colonial buildings. Overnight at Lodge or Hotel.
Day 2: Kaieteur and Orinduik Falls
After breakfast enjoy a trip to Kaieteur and Orinduik Falls. Kaieteur Falls is one of the worlds natural wonders and sits on the Potaro River. It has a drop of 822 feet which is 5 times the height of Niagara Falls. Orinduik Falls is where the Ireng River thunders over steps and terraces of solid jasper and is set amongst rolling hills of the Pakaraima Mountains. Lunch is included. Overnight at your Lodge or Hotel.
Day 3: Iwokrama River Lodge
After breakfast you will be transferred to Iwokrama River Lodge which involves a short flight. Lunch is provided en route. Explore one of the nearby wildlife trails with an experienced Iwokrama Guide. Learn about the Mora, Soft Wallaba and Wamara trees and the Screaming Piha, the Grey Chinned Hermit and the black-necked Aracari. After dinner you can go Nocturnal Wildlife Spotting on the Essequibo River. Overnight at Iwokrama River Lodge.
Day 4:Iwokrama River Lodge-Atta
Visit Indian House Island to see the butterflies, snakes and macaws. Then hike up Turtle Mountain for a view of the top of the rainforest canopy to spot several species of monkey. Onto Kurupukari Falls to see the Amerindian petroglyphs. After lunch visit the small Amerindian community then transfer along a trail that is one of the best places to see the elusive Jaguar. Lastly visit the Iwokrama Canopy Walkway which allows you to view the forest from 35 metres up.Overnight at Atta Rainforest Lodge in a hammock.
Day 5: Surama-Annai
Welcome the dawn chorus from the canopy walkway. After breakfast travel to a trail in the Iwokrama Forest in search of the Guianian Cock-of-the-Rock. Next stop is the Amerindian village of Surama where a local guide will escort you on trails to observe the forest and bird life followed by a tour of the village. You will then be taken to Rock View Lodge which is home to many species of birds. Overnight at Rock View Lodge.
Day 6: Annai - Georgetown
Today you can join the vaqueros on horse back (this is an extra cost) as they take cattle out to graze on the savannah, or hike in the foothills of the Pakaraima Mountains. After lunch you will fly to Georgetown and enjoy a mini Georgetown city tour. In the afternoon visit the home of Roy Geddes for a cultural evening and local dinner. Roy is Guyana’s most famous steel pan player and maker. Overnight at Lodge or Hotel.
